NEAR's NEPs repository merged NEP-652, a protocol proposal to remove a persistently failing chunk producer from its shard's rotation within an epoch instead of waiting for the end-of-epoch kickout.

NEP-652 proposes early chunk producer reassignment. A chunk producer that keeps failing would be taken out of its shard's chunk production rotation within the current epoch, rather than staying in until the existing end-of-epoch kickout.
